My name is Anthonia Nneamaka Onyejekwe, and I am a Nigerian-American filmmaker from East Oakland, CA. I have a passion for telling stories about people of color and I believe that representation matters in front and behind the camera. I have produced and directed content for ABC-7 Bay Area, independent projects, and public institutions. In addition, I created an after-school film program called REEL Oakland for Bay Area youth in urban communities to be exposed to filmmaking practices and to produce their own multimedia projects. In 2014, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Cultural Studies at UC Riverside, and in 2017 I obtained a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University. When I am not working, I love spending time with family and friends, travelling around the world, and eating really good food made by my mom.
